Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at macsandmutts@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • Rules and regulations for cottage bakeries depend on the state. Here in Colorado it means that we are primarily baking from home and that we are not inspected by the USDA. We uphold the highest sanitation standards and monitor all ingredients and holding temperatures.
  • Completed Food Handlers Certification and CSU Cottage Baking Safety (Certification below).
  • Muttarons are not a part of the cottage baking law, but are inspected and registered with the Colorado department of agriculture.

We currently do not offer shipping, (and are legally not allowed to ship out of state under Colorado bakery laws) but are happy to advise on ways to safely package Macs and Mutts to survive travel.

Because we are a cottage bakery, we are unable to actually certify that our products are ‘gluten free’, but none of the ingredients used in making our macarons have gluten in them. We also always place a label of ingredients on the bottom of the boxes of both macarons and muttarons.
